Prof. Manoj K. Mishra
Professor Manoj Kumar Mishra finished his schooling from the Modern School, New
Delhi in 1968 where he was an All India Merit Scholar. He completed his B.Sc.
(Chemistry Honours) from Saint Xavier’s College, Ranchi University in 1972 with
first class and second rank in the University and his M.Sc. (Chemistry) with
First Class First from IIT Delhi in 1974 where he was a National Merit Scholar.
He was a CSIR/UGC JRF at JNU New Delhi during 1974-75 and completed his Ph.D. in
Quantum Theory Project, University of Florida, Gainsville in 1981 where he was
elected to perhaps the most prestigious honor society of Liberal Arts and
Sciences in USA - the Phi Beta Kappa. He served as a Guest Scientist at the
University of Uppsala, Sweden (1981-82), Lektorvikar at the Arahus University,
Denmark (1982-83), Post Doctoral Research Associate at the University of Florida
(1983-84) and the Prinston University (1984-86) where he returned to teach as a
Visiting Associate Professor in 1993-94. He joined IIT Bombay as an Assistant
Professor in 1986 and became Professor in 1995. he served IIT Bombay in many
different capacities incuding, Head, Chemistry Department and Chairman. GATE
before joining the University of Lucknow as its Vice Chancellor in November
2009. |
